Report of the Auditor-General No. 9 of 2025-26: Follow up of Report of the Auditor-General No.2 of 2021-22: Council general manager recruitment, appointment and performance assessment
Four years ago, in the Report of the Auditor-General No.2 of 2021-22: Council general manager recruitment, appointment and performance assessment, 4 recommendations were made to improve the general manager recruitment and performance assessment processes by councils. The report also recommended that the Office of Local Government (OLG) support the Minister for Local Government to develop and issue mandatory requirements and supplementary guidance on these processes.
This audit report provides an update on OLG’s and councils’ progress in implementing those recommendations.
