Report of the Auditor-General No. 2 of 2026-27: Treasury’s oversight of government businesses
This performance audit report examined the effectiveness of the Department of Treasury and Finance (Treasury) in supporting the Treasurer oversee government businesses. This report assessed:
- Treasury’s actions in supporting, maintaining and administering the corporate governance framework for government businesses
- Treasury’s advice to the Treasurer, as shareholding minister, on the compliance and performance of individual government businesses.
This report made recommendations to Treasury aimed at improving the corporate governance framework as part of the ongoing governance reforms and strengthening its internal practices and processes to better support informed decision making.
